I was thrilled you chose to highlight Gemma Heffernan on the Blog this month. Denise I don't think if you had written a cover story on the front page of the newspaper that it would have given you enough room to list all the wonderful things Gemma has done for the Seniors in our Community. Gemma is a smart, articulate & innovative woman who is also warm, caring and has a heart for helping others which is what life is all about. She is a jewel that sparkles and shines. If you or your family member are ever on hospice and you see Gemma walking through the door you will understand what I mean. Her kindess shines..actually radiates. The confidence she has with the knowledge of her job sparkles in her eyes letting you know that she will take care of everything she can possibly take care of. It is nice to know we have someone like Gemma working in the Community for our Seniors

I so agree Julie! Thanks so much for sharing. I found Gemma to be one of the most fascinating interviews. Her life stories impart such wisdom. I feel lucky and blessed to know Gemma, and most honored to be able to write her story. Can't wait to shine the spotlight on you soon!! ;)

I found the article on our own Gemma Heffernan very interesting! I knew very little about her background until now. We have an amazing team of warm, intelligent, dedicated professionals that I am happy and proud to be affiliated with. Each person in our company has many stories to tell about their varied work experiences, as well as their own personal lives too. Most everyone we meet has an interesting story to tell and all we have to do is be open to listening with our ears and our heart. So many opportunities to learn if we can truly listen to what's being told and respect the person who is talking no matter who they are, where they come from or where they're going. This is another one of the blessings we receive doing hospice work.

My passion is interviewing seniors and documenting their stories. I also have a passion for educating families on how to draw out the stories and spend productive, quality time with seniors. I document the stories with recorded audio and storybooks. I applaud what you do. I have spent the past several months interviewing veterans living in a senior home in San Clemente and producing a digital scrapbook which is displayed in a place of honor in the lobby of the home. Maybe my experience of falling in love with this work will inspire others. For more info you may contact me at jacky@tributetales.com or visit my website www.heritagemakers.com/jacky
