At the invitation of the Culver City Senior Center in Los Angeles, I spoke about “Celebrating Your Life, Preserving Your Legacy,” for a captivated, lively group of healthy seniors. At a Reminiscing Corner, I asked seniors to share their wisdom to pass on to the next generation. Check out the video of Enid Manning, who shared the most illuminating life review interview with us. Jay Gianukos, a life story documentary filmmaker, recorded her reminiscing about her life
in the company of seniors and her daughter. Enid teaches us that every life, even the ordinary, is extraordinary when shared in the company of family and community.
This workshop was the second one in series that Aduana White, Hospice Care of the West consultant, and I gave to the seniors because the first one was such a hit. Seniors were saying it was the best class they had ever experienced at the Culver City Senior Center. I explore the benefits of Hospice Care of the West and real life examples from my book Parting Ways. Ultimately, seniors rediscover that life’s final frontier can be a very exciting, rewarding time to reunite with those we love at life celebrations and how reminiscing can be
turned into a legacy of video recorded memories to pass on to the next generations. Below is the video we played at the Culver City Senior Center to inspire the reminiscing corner.
